Perched high upon a tufa rock, the ancient city of Orvieto is our inspirational starting point. Enjoy unbelievable cuisine, world-class wines, archeological marvels and jaw-dropping art. As we head to our final destination of Argentario—a peninsula tethered by three ribbons of land off the pristine coast of Tuscany—relax on the shores of a volcanic lake, explore culturally significant sights and inhale Tyrrhenian Sea breezes. All the while experience the ever-changing landscape of the two loveliest regions of Central Italy.

Itinerary - Orvieto to Argentario

Day 1  Orvieto
You are expected at the hotel in Orvieto starting at 2PM. At 6PM welcoming appetizer and presentation of the tour. Dinner and evening tour of the city. Overnight stay in Orvieto.

Day 2  Orvieto-Bolsena  ca. 35 km | 22 miles
Morning in Orvieto, reach in history to be discovered. After a light lunch we cycle to Civita di Bagnoregio, castled on a rock from witch you will be amazed by the view. We then depart by bike, heading to Bolsena. Here you will enjoy sightseeing and a leisurely bike ride along the blue lake. In the evening we will enjoy dinner and a tour of the medieval quarter. Overnight stay in Bolsena.

Day 3: Bolsena-Tuscania  ca. 45 km | 28 miles
Today we start biking along the Lake of Bolsena, following the path Sentiero dei Briganti to the beach of Capodimonte, picnic lunch and visit to Capodimonte. Possible boat trip to the lake's islands Bizantina and Martana. We then cycle to Tuscania. Dinner and evening tour of the historic medieval citadel. Overnight stay in Tuscania.

Day 4: Tuscania-Vulci  ca. 35 km | 22 ml
Morning  guided visit of Tuscania. 11.00 AM departure for Vulci. Lunch in the park and visit of the Archaeological Naturalistic Park of Vulci, on foot. Arrival at the farmhouse. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Vulci-Capalbio Scalo  ca. 30 km | 19 ml
9am bike ride to the ‘Tarot Garden’ by Niki De Saint Phalle. Visit to the park and lunch. Cycling to the coast. Afternoon at the beach. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Capalbio Scalo – excursion to Oasis WWF 
Enjoy a well-deserved day relaxing on the beach or cycling in the surrounding area. We also offer an optional excursion to the WWF Oasis. There is also the possibility of free excursions by bike and train to the following areas: Tarquinia, the Etruscan necropolis, and the medieval quarter; the Argentario, with its beautiful beaches and harbors; Rome, by train in an hour and a half. Dinner (not included). Overnight.

Day 7: Capalbio Scalo - Porto Santo Stefano  ca. 30 km | 19 ml
At 9am, we set off, cycling to Ansedonia. We visit the Archaeological site of Cosa and Feniglia. Lunch on the beach. La Rocca di Porto Ercole. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Porto Santo Stefano
After breakfast, the tour is officially over.

 

Itinerary - Argentario to Orvieto

Day 1: Porto Santo Stefano
Individual arrival at the hotel in Porto Santo Stefano by 6pm. Aperitif and presentation of the tour and the group. Dinner and evening tour of the city. Overnight stay in Porto Santo Stefano.

Day 2: Porto Santo Stefano-Capalbio Scalo  ca. 30 km | 19 ml
At 9am, we set off, cycling to La Rocca di Porto Ercole and then Ansedonia. We visit the Feniglia and the Archaeological site of Cosa. Lunch on the beach. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Capalbio Scalo – excursion to Oasis WWF 
Enjoy a well-deserved day relaxing on the beach or cycling in the surrounding area. We also offer an optional excursion to the WWF Oasis. There is also the possibility of free excursions by bike and train to the following areas: Tarquinia, the Etruscan necropolis, and the medieval quarter; Rome, by train in an hour and a half. Day 4: Capalbio Scalo - Capalbio  ca. 30 km | 19 ml
9am At the beach to enjoy the cristal water of the Mediterranean Sea and lunch on the beach. Cycling along the coast to the ‘Tarot Garden’ of Niki De Saint Phalle and visit to this sculpture park. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Capalbio - Tuscania ca. 45 km | 28 ml 
9am By bike to the Archaeological Naturalistic Park of Vulci, guided visit and lunch at the Park. After lunch we cycle to Tuscania. Visit of the historic medieval city center. Dinner (not included) and overnight stay.

Day 6: Tuscania - Bolsena  ca. 45 km | 28 ml
We set off at 9am cycling to Bolsena lake and  the beach of Capodimonte. Biking along the Lake of Bolsena following the path Sentiero dei Briganti. Pic-nic lunch by the lake. Possible boat trip to the lake's islands Bizantina and Martana. Dinner and evening tour of the medieval citadel of Bolsena. Overnight stay in Bolsena.

Day 7: Bolsena - Orvieto  ca. 35 km | 22 ml
At 9am, we cycle to Civita di Bagnoregio. We have lunch in a restaurant offering local cuisine, then take a guided tour of the town. We then depart by bike, heading to Orvieto. Here you will enjoy sightseeing the old city center. In the evening we will enjoy dinner and a tour of the medieval quarter. Overnight stay in Orvieto.

Day 8: Orvieto
After breakfast, end of services.
