We will sail the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean in search of hidden coves as we learn the basic skills of sailing from our skipper. We will trail along archaeological sites and Napoleonic villas, vineyards, olive groves and white stone beaches against a backdrop of breathtaking seascapes.
Day 1: Sailing Day - Marina di Punta Ala – Porto Azzurro
We wait for you at Marina di Punta Ala at 3 PM and set sail at 5 PM for Elba Island. During the journey, you will learn the first rudiments of sailing. We will explain all important factors you can look forward to on the trip, followed by dinner on board. We will then spend a pleasant evening together in Porto Azzurro a quaint coastal village dominated by the spanish Fort of Longone from the 16 century.
Day 2: Bike Tour - Capoliveri promontory – 35 km – 22 ml
After a hearty breakfast, we leave the boat and get on two wheels. Off we go with our guide cycling land inwards in Elba Island. You'll notice scents of aromatic herbs and a light sea breeze as you cycle through vineyards and olive groves, small villages and breathtaking landscapes. We will visit the iron mine to learn about the history of the island and taste the wines and typical products on a visit to a local farm and savour the famous Aleatico sweet wine. Dinner in one of of the many restaurants and pizzerias of your choice, then enjoy an evening stroll or relax on board.
Day 3: Sailing Day - Porto Azzurro – Marciana Marina
This day is dedicated to sailing around the island. Plunge into the crystal clear waters and swim to hidden beaches you can reach only by boat . We will also have the opportunity to practice sailing with our experienced skipper. In the evening, you will be free to explore the shops in the port and the excellent local bars and restaurants of Marciana Marina.
Day 4: Trekking Day - Marciana Marina - Excursion to Monte Capanne
This is a day to remember, with the ascent to Mount Capanne by cable car, then light trekking up to its peak (1019 meters above sea level) — the highest point of the island. From here, you'll have a 360° view of the island and the entire Tuscan Archipelago, all the way to Corsica and mainland Tuscany itself. Around midday, we will descend again, to sea level. In the afternoon free time to enjoy the many artisian shops with local products, sightseeing and relax in the beatiful beach at the foot of the 15 century Appiani tower. Dinner on board, our sailboat is moored in the central marina.
Day 5: Bike Tour - Marciana Marina - Portoferraio - 35 km – 22 ml
The day will be dedicated to the discovery of the north of the island where Napoleon sojourned in 1814. We will visit the Napoleonic residence Villa dei Mulini, free time to visit the village of Portoferraio surmounted by the Fortress Medicee and time permitting a visit to the archaeological excavations of the Villa Romana delle Grotte. We will spend the evening on board, enjoying a good aperitif and an excellent dinner at sunset sailing to Marina di Campo.
Day 6: Bike Tour - Pianosa Island - loop tour 18 km - 12 ml
With the ferry from Marina di Campo to Pianosa Island. On two wheels we go to the discovery of the beauties of the island once a famous high security prison, now a protected natural oasis with lush vegetation and spectacular seabeds under emerald waters. Free afternoon to bathe on the island's waters or take an optional activity (snorkeling, kayaking, trekking). We return to the Island of Elba in the late afternoon where we will reach our boat. An aperitif followed by an excellent dinner on board, cradled by the tranquil sea.
Day 7: Pto Azzurro – Punta Ala
Our last day is dedicate to refining our sailing skills, enjoy many dives into the deep blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and coast the island in search of isolated coves. Back in Punta Ala in the late afternoon, under the golden rays of sunset we will enjoy a group dinner in one of the port’s restaurants.
Day 8: Punta Ala
After breakfast, this cycling and sailing tour is officially over.
